Does this sound familiar?

You've been coping for a long time. You deserve more than that.

Why do I still react this way?

Something happened that you thought you'd moved past, but it still shows up in your body, your sleep, or your relationships.

I'm holding it together, but barely.

From the outside you're fine. Inside, the worry and tension never really switch off.

We keep having the same fight.

You care about each other, but you keep ending up in the same painful pattern and don't know how to get out.

What is EMDR?

Process the past without reliving it.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured, evidence-based therapy for trauma. Using bilateral stimulation such as guided eye movements, tapping or alternating sounds, it helps your brain file a painful memory away properly, so it no longer feels like it's happening now.

You don't need to describe every detail of what happened. Many people notice change sooner than with talk therapy alone.

  1. 1History & goalsWe get to know what you're carrying and what you want to feel instead.
  2. 2Preparation & resourcingYou build calming skills first, so you feel safe and steady before any memory work.
  3. 3ReprocessingWith bilateral stimulation, we work through target memories at a pace you control.
  4. 4IntegrationWe strengthen positive beliefs about yourself and check that the change holds.

Meet your therapist

Hi, I'm Délia.

I'm a Registered Psychotherapist who works with trauma, anxiety, and relationships. My approach is client-centred and warm: we focus on your goals, and I adapt to what works for you.

I draw on EMDR, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness, and I welcome people of all cultural, religious, and LGBTQ+ backgrounds. I offer sessions in English and Hungarian.

Why Aceso? In Greek mythology, Aceso was the goddess of the healing process. Her sister Panacea stood for the instant cure, but Aceso watched over the slow, real work of getting better. That's how I see therapy: step by step, at your pace, and every step counts.

FAQ

Before you book

Does EMDR work online?

Yes. Online EMDR can use eye movements following a moving point on your screen, self-tapping, or headphones with alternating sounds, and we'll find what works best for you. Research suggests online EMDR can be effective for many people, and many clients feel safer doing trauma work from their own space.

Do I have to talk about my trauma in detail?

No. EMDR doesn't require you to describe everything that happened. We go at your pace, and you decide what to share.

Will my insurance cover therapy?

Most extended health plans cover sessions with a Registered Psychotherapist. Your plan must specifically list Registered Psychotherapist (RP) coverage. If you're unsure, contact your insurance company to confirm.

What happens in the free consultation?

We talk briefly about what's bringing you in and whether we're a good fit. Ask anything. There's no pressure to book.

Where do I need to be?

You need to be located in Ontario or Saskatchewan during sessions, somewhere private where you feel comfortable. I see clients online across both provinces, including Toronto, Ottawa, Mississauga, Hamilton, London, Kitchener-Waterloo, Saskatoon and Regina.
